Interoperability architecture for virtual engineering in the extended  enterprise

    Context:
    In a collaborative network, partners are willing to be able to efficiently manage  product design and development. However due to many sources of heterogeneities, their capacity to interoperate is often very limited at many levels : data exchange, application management and process executions.

    Objectives:

    • Address the problem of product definition using up to date information models
    • Develop ontology  to promote semantic reconciliation of data between partners
    • Develop modern architectures based on mediation of  services to support Information system design
    • Use of Model Driven Engineering processes to define the information system on an ESB platform
    • Implement a platform prototype as a proof of concept in a PLM context

    Scope:
    Initiate a powerful research infrastructure as a mean to coordinate research in the specific area of collaborative product design.
